Yesterday was the special New Year
prazdnik (celebration) at Lydia's preschool. We had fun watching her with the other kids as they danced, sang, said verses, and had a visit from
Ded Moroz (Grandfather frost).
Birdie got dressed up for the occasion in her Christmas outfit...
Here's Lydia's class in the hallway, waiting to go into the room for the performance.
Lydia and the other girls are dressed as Christmas trees (actually New Year trees)
Dancing around the
Yolka (New Year Tree). The lady in white is dressed as
Snyegorachka (Grandfather Frost's granddaughter).
The lady in the black and white dress is Lydia's head teacher.
The arrival of
Ded Moroz!
Each child received a little gift.
And now for the video clips! Enjoy!

Loved the pictures & videos! Now the words of the poem Lydia recited makes more sense as I saw her telling it to Grandfather frost (a quite lively-steppin' guy). Lydia sure doesn't mind being in the spotlight or performing. I love to watch her in situations like this!
So much fun! You did a great job on her costume. :) We get to see you soon!
